Scents for a new home
- Fresh and clean: Clean Cotton, like laundry dried outside, or Sea Breeze, like every window is open.
- Warm and welcoming: Vanilla Bean and Comfort Spice.
- In winter: Fresh Balsam.
If you don't know their taste
Vanilla Bean is the easiest one to love. If you're not sure they like scented candles at all, Unscented is a gift nobody minds.
Which size
The 9 oz amber jar ($24) is the usual housewarming candle. For a bigger gesture, bring the 16 oz glass jar ($30), which burns for about 60–80 hours. Two 4 oz amber jars in different scents also make a nice pair.
A tip to pass on
Tell them to let the first burn melt all the way to the edge of the jar, about two to three hours. Soy wax remembers its first melt, so this keeps the candle burning evenly. Our care guide has the rest.
